Fifty volunteers assisted in the event which raised more than $900 for local charities.

"The results of the Inaugural Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention 5k ruck 5k run/walk was overwhelmingly positive. I am thankful and honored that so many people participated in helping to further bring awareness to sexual assault and prevention. As a team, we learned some details about planning an event of this size and will take the lessons learned with us in preparing and planning a bigger event for next year that will bring more attention to the program", said 1st Lt.
